Details:

PGO (TM) first introduced Bear Mountain BBQ Pellets in 2009 and they became a good choice for an all purpose BBQ wood pellet for wood pellet grilling. Bear Mountain BBQ Wood Pellets contain at least 25% of flavor-wood and 75% base-wood to bring out smoke flavor and produce tasty BBQ. Bear Mountain BBQ Wood Pellets do not use oils, starches or fillers.

Many companies use only base-wood, such as alder or oak, and simply add wood oil flavoring to produce a "wood-like" flavor. The end result is that the BBQ pellet does not produce the natural smoke or flavor you would expect when using all natural wood and lots of ash floating through your grill.

New Pellets

I used the new alderwood pellets to smoke a pork butt for pulled pork. Not only was the smoke very aromatic but the it was gentle on the meat. No heavy smoke taste (my wife hates it when it's too smokey!!) I smoked the pork for eight hours at 225 and it was PERFECT. The crowd at the Monday Nite Football event thought it was the best that they had ever had. Nothing but rave reviews. I will be using the other varieties very soon.

Bear Mountain pellets

Recently replaced my Traeger with a MAK 2 Star General. As soon as I burned Bear Mountain hickory and smelled the smoke I said out loud "That's the smell I've been looking for". A Kentucky guy knows what hickory smoke smells like. Great product and great website. Thanks guys!

I purchased a Traeger. And was very upset that it did not have any smoke flavor. Turns out the Traeger grill is great but the Traeger pellets are useless. You mas well burn cotton balls for flavor if you use the Traeger pellets . I tried the Bear Mountain Pellets and the smoke flavor is back. Thank you for making the switch Bear Mountain pellets are the way to go!

LOVE these prllets!

These pellets have great aroma and awesome flavor. Just open the bag and take a smell. You will enjoy the true essence of the wood...as it should be. I have use several of the flavors now and I'll tell you...the flavor is far superior to what I had been using. You will not be disappointed with these pellets. I am ordering more!!!

BEAR MOUNTAIN PELLETS

I have been a loyal Traeger owner for 10+ years, 3 smokers, 2 which i have bought from PGO. Glad to see them getting away from the newer units as the last unit was alot cheaper made than the first two. I also have a FEC100 and go through 2-3 bags of pellets a week. We recently moved from Idaho to Florida and I continue to buy my pellets from PGO, at a better price than I can buy localy in central Florida. The new Bear Mountain pellets are a far superior product than the Traegers i have used for years. Less ash, better smoke and seem to burn longer. Keep up the good work PGO and a special thanks to Anna and Karman for getting me the last order out in time for Lakeland Pigfest this weekend. TheNakedChef2

LOT'S of good old wood flavor!

I started out with the Traeger pellets and for me there was absolutely NO flavor what so ever. This weekend I used the Bear Mountain and after the results from using them on my brisket I will NEVER go back to the Traeger wood pellets... LOT'S of good old wood flavor!
